Irene Arena has built an illustrious career spanning continents and decades. Born in Tripoli, Libya, Africa during its time as an Italian colony, Irene’s early years were marked by a diverse upbringing in Sicily, Rome, and Bologna. At the tender age of five, she took matters into her own hands, quite literally, as she began sneakily trimming her own bangs due to her mother’s inability to achieve a straight line.

This early glimpse into the world of hairstyling foreshadowed Irene’s future path. At the age of seven, Irene’s family relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, USA, where she embarked on her professional journey. While attending a Vocational High School, she  simultaneously worked weekends apprenticing under Gino Troia Salon, the first Unisex salon in Towson, MD. She displayed immense talent and passion for the art of hairdressing, earning her Cosmetology License at the age of 18.  This pivotal experience paved the way for Irene’s rapid ascent in the industry.

 The pinnacle of Irene’s career came when she became a part of the esteemed team at Hair Harvest, the most fashionable salon in town. Her exceptional skills and dedication propelled her to open her own salon, aptly named Hair Arena, by the time she reached the age of 21. While running her salon successfully, Irene began to yearn for more than just the confines of her business. Driven by an insatiable desire to explore the world, she decided to travel, taking her talented staff back to her first working salon.

In 1980, Irene took a bold step by establishing Arena Productions, a company focused on organizing fashion events for charitable causes such as Santa Claus Unanimous, Special Olympics, and the Children’s Cancer Society. Her commitment to giving back to the community through her creative endeavors earned her admiration and respect within the industry.

During her travels, Irene attended the 1st. Paul Mitchell Seminar in Hawaii in 1983, which became a turning point in her career. Inspired  by a consultation with Paul Mitchell and meeting of her mentor Jean Braa drove her passion for education, and she became an Educator for Paul Mitchell Systems’ associate program in 1985. Five years later, she received an esteemed position in Italy, becoming an Importer and Master Associate. With her entrepreneurial spirit and determination, Irene successfully opened and educated four markets in Europe, including Italy, Switzerland, Bulgaria, and Slovenia.

After her enriching international experience, Irene returned to the United States, settling in Las Vegas to care for her elderly parents until their passing. Displaying her versatility and adaptability, she contributed her talents to various renowned Las Vegas strip salons, including Hard Rock, Trump,  Cristophe, and MGM Resort Salon, where she had the experience of styling guests and celebrities from around the globe. An Incredible experience, that led her to the creation of Artistic Imagery Consult.

In 2020, Irene ventured into a new chapter of her career by founding Artistic Imagery Consult. With her vast knowledge and expertise in styling and image consulting, she aims to empower individuals to embrace their unique identities and unlock their full potential through their personal style. As she launches this exciting new venture, Irene remains committed to providing her clients with personalized and transformative experiences that leave a lasting impact.
